Sydney Water is failing to inform the public about its plans for restoring public access to the waterside picnic area of Prospect Reservoir and the restoration of access via the cycleway path via the old water canal. Not only are these areas now locked out, but the signage in front of their gates suggests that access will be restored by "the end of 2014".  Now it is the second month into 2015, and Sydney Water has not only failed to restore access, but has failed to inform the public, the walkers and cyclists of the paths, via their signage, when access will be restored, nor the reasons for failure to restore access.  Western Sydney Environment Network, the organizers of the "Walk for water" event have requested that Sydney Water grant some access or supply some answers, and improve their signage. The prospect dam upgrades finished some time ago according to Sydney Catchment Authority.
